My Project

Hello! Thank you so much for looking at our project. Our school is a predominantly black, low-income school in the Chicago suburbs. After several years of being unused, we are attempting to revitalize our library. However, there are a few hiccups. Not only is there no budget allocated for receiving new materials, but the vast majority of our books are outdated to the point of being inaccurate and uninteresting to our kids.

Each book that was requested was chosen to fill our least represented genres such as horror, graphic novels, social issues, etc.

The particular series that were chosen are books that are beloved by our kids. These are the books that fly off the shelves each week, and the students always ask about. Having complete collections of these series will alleviate the great demand for them. It also prevents students from being unable to complete a full storyline due to missing books in the series, a major problem we currently face.

Our students love to read, and they make the best out of what we have. I can't think of a group of kids more deserving than them. Having this project funded would absolutely change our lives. It's my sincere hope that the community would lift up our kids and make a positive change in their learning. Thank you.
