Help Them Get Drunk (Simulated Prevention Lesson)

Help me give my students Drunk Busters Impairment Goggles and the prevention strategies they need to avoid alcohol and other drugs. This lesson is crucial for uur Freshmen and Junior health classes.

My Project

In an effort to deter the use of alcohol and other drugs, our students participate in a "Drunk Goggles" lesson which simulates the experience of being impaired. The focus is to quantify a decrease in abilities while under the influence. Students attempt a variety of tasks sober and then impaired with the goggles. We have used this activity for many years and the impact is powerful. However, over the years, our goggles have become damaged. With a very limited budget, it is difficult to make funds available for these goggles, as they are fairly expensive. This is where you come in.

With your support, you can help educate our students about the dangers of alcohol and other drugs and potentially safe a life.

When you are out on the road, do you worry about the other drivers and if they have been drinking? By addressing this most important issue at a younger age, we can decrease the number of serious or even fatal car accidents, while ensuring our students overall health.
