My Project
Hello! I am hoping to add some more books and hands-on SEL materials to my classroom this year. For the past two years, I have worked primarily with middle school staff and students on creating a positive school culture, through Restorative Practices. This year, my position is expanding to support all grade levels. The materials listed will help me ensure that I have resources for my younger students. We are requesting a yoga mats set, a Mindful Maze Set and interactive notebooks.
My hope is to create a safe and peaceful environment for students to come to when they need a break.
Many of the students that I work with do not always know how to let out their emotions in a positive way, so it is important to have a space where students can try and learn new ways to handle their emotions. If students are equipped with some SEL skills, then they are more likely to succeed in the classroom.
