Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

We have a new life skills program in our school, which is located in a small rural Maine district. Currently, we have a student with cerebral palsy, who would benefit so much from adaptive swim equipment. He has been working hard and getting stronger but his physical and occupational therapists agree getting into the pool would be a huge boost in his strength and mobility. It will also set him and others in the future for success if he can build that habit now. As the program grows, we will have other students who would benefit from the adaptable swim equipment. We have reached out to our local organization but they are also in a rural community and do not have any equipment available. Our hope is to help bolster the local community and be a visible reminder of how amazing inclusivity can be for everyone. Thank you very much in advance.
