This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My wonderful students live and attend school in an area of low socioeconomic status. Our school is a Title I school, and most students are eligable for free lunch. Many of them have to overcome obstacles such a difficult home lives including trauma and lack of basic needs.

Despite these obstacles, my students show an interest and excitement for creating and learning about art.

It is a chance for them to have color, creativity and hands on experiences that they do not get anywhere else.

My Project

For many of my students, my class is the best part of their day. Giving them quality art supplies to encourage their creativity will improve their lives immensely. I do not want to just encourage the gifted artists, I want ALL my students to have a love for art regardless of skill set. My art budget didn't allow for many of the things they need for this school year. Without the help of generous donors, we can not afford even the most basic supplies. Please help me to get my students the supplies we need, such as these colored pencils and markers, for a successful art program.
