My end of the year goal for my students is for them to have a love of reading, writing and math. These iPads will allow my students to take a step further into their own learning by allowing them to create blogs and build on each others' ideas. This will also help foster independence!
My students are extremely bright and energetic.
I love their energy! I have a creative bunch of students who love to learn and think outside the box. My students love to question and discuss new ideas we develop, or new characters we meet in our daily read aloud books.
My Project
I have requested two iPads with protective cases in order to help support my students in all areas of the curriculum. The students will use these iPads with protective cases to help them in all subject areas. For example, in math, the students will be able to record themselves teaching lessons, play interactive math games, and practice their math fluency. In reading, I will download interactive books that may be read aloud to the students as well as apps that help them practice their sight words in a fun way.
Students can record themselves to help monitor their fluency in reading.
In writing, I will allow students to study mentor texts online that will help them within their own writing. Additionally, they will work on a class blog, where they can add on to each other's thoughts. The websites and apps I choose will be used to supplement the content in which I am teaching, and will help my students stay motivated and become more independent in all areas of the curriculum. By including the protective cases, I can ensure that if a student accidentally drops it, the iPad won't be damaged.
