This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Help me provide technology-based learning for my second-grade students. Technology is an essential resource for students because it will prepare them with the tools that they need to be successful in their future and to become 21st-century learners.
My students are second graders at a public city school.
They have open minds and are eager to learn. I have a larger number of students performing at grade level as well as a group of students that need small group instruction and individual attention. By providing technology-based learning in my classroom, I can provide differentiated instruction for students that target their specific needs in various subject matter such as reading, math, and writing. My students deserve the very best and my goal is to provide a classroom environment that will provide technology-based learning that is enriching, educational, and engaging.
My Project
Using Ipads for small group instruction will provide my students with the skills they need to be successful in school and in life. Technology is all around us and it is important that students become familiar with it. Many district tests are now administered using the iPad. If students are not familiar with navigating the iPad, students will not be successful on their district assessments. I want to provide my students with the resources they need to be successful. By using iPads in the classroom, students will not only benefit from the differentiated instruction in the areas of math, reading, and writing but they will also learn how to type which will provide them with the skills they need to succeed in school.
I had an amazing mentor teacher tell me that differentiated instruction is key in providing an enriching curriculum that targets the needs of all learners.
She was right. I strongly believe that all students should have access to differentiated instruction because not all students learn the same. By providing technology in the classroom, I will provide differentiated instruction for my students. Please help me make my dream a reality in creating technology-based learning for my students.
