Students of today need more than direct instruction to get excited about learning. My class does well in a blended learning environment where they can learn at their own pace and move on to new objectives when they are ready.
My class is an active group of third grade students.
They come from families who work hard to provide for them and have a desire for their children to learn, achieve, and be the best that they can be.
My students thrive when given learning activities and experiences that allow them to think and discover things for themselves.
My Project
My students need supplies to support hands-on learning and help them focus on their work. Students will use the wobble cushions to wobble while they work on science, engineering, technology, art, reading, and math. I received eight wobble cushions from another grant and students love using them. They use them on their chairs and the floor. Students are able to move around a bit while sitting to help them focus on a task. Your donation will make it possible for every student in the class to use a wobble cushion, if they choose.
Your donation will also provide much needed consumable supplies that our class will use for science and art projects.
These are supplies that get used up in the process and need to be replaced every few years, such as googly eyes and yarn to create puppets, sandpaper, sticker dots, index cards, rubber bands, and pony beads used in science and engineering experiments.
Lastly, your donation will allow me to replace the well worn personal whiteboards in our classroom. Students use these every day and the finish is wearing off the set we currently use. Your donation will truly make a difference for our class!
