Ridgecrest is a school in Pinellas County where the majority of scholars are from low income households and receive free lunch.
My 18 scholars are creative and extraordinary kindergartners who come from a variety of backgrounds.
In my classroom, I have students who are gifted, students who struggle with academics, students who are homeless, students who struggle with trauma, and students who excel in sports. My diverse students all have in common that they love exploring, creating, and being a part of our kindergarten class.
My Project
I want to create an inviting environment where kindergarten scholars feel comfortable and excited to read. When a library is filled with new books and a new rug it becomes engaging and exciting. This project will allow me to create a cozy and inviting classroom library where students feel safe, comfortable and excited to read.
Our library needs new non fiction books and high interest books to keep developing our love for reading.
These new supplies will allow for our library to have a comfortable and brand new carpet to create a sheltered area for scholars to let their imagination run and dive into a book.
