I teach a combined kindergarten and first grade at a rural school in Wyoming, where I have fallen in love with my school and the students that I teach.
The families are very close knit in this ranching community and it is not uncommon for one class to stay together from kindergarten to graduation.
My students are eager to learn and are incredibly active. They love to read, to write and to learn through hands-on exploration. Due to our small class sizes, many of our classes are combined, which means the majority of supplies are shared.
The COVID pandemic has made it so that social distancing is a necessary precaution in schools. Because of that and my relatively large number of students I will need to get creative with my seating arrangement in the classroom. I have moved my classroom into the band room to better be able to spread the students out better while learning, but do not have the seating needed to appropriately space them. This group would benefit greatly from any seating arrangement that you could help provide for them.

My Project
I teach in a small Kindergarten-12th grade school in a small ranching community. I teach a combined Kindergarten/First Grade classroom and over the summer have had a huge jump in expected numbers.
Because of this, I have had to move my classroom into the band room to have enough space to be able to appropriately social distance this group of little ones.
There will be a large room, but I do not currently have enough seating and would absolutely love to give my students flexible seating opportunities for the upcoming school year.
With the COVID pandemic, many things have changed and choice has been taken away from students with many things. My hope is to be able to give them choice in their seat and provide them with the opportunity to wiggle and learn!
