I have 25 hard working children in my 3rd grade classroom. 92% of the students in our school qualify for free/reduced lunch. Even considering their socioeconomic disadvantage, our students still come to school each day ready to learn, grow, and be successful. They are hard working group of children that love using technology in the classroom and now have that opportunity since we have been given a class set of used iPads.
Sometimes it can be hard keeping the attention of 25 children, but using technology and a variety of different types of classroom instruction really helps keep them engaged all day long.
Many of our children don't have technology at home. It is important in this day and age that they know how to use technology and feel comfortable using it.
My Project
My class just received a class set of previously loved iPads.
I would love to have them use the iPads on a daily basis, but we really need some basic accessories to make the most out of our "new" technology.
The cases are so important to keep the iPads safe when they are accidentally dropped, as we all know will likely happen. The charging station will help with keeping them charged and usable on a daily basis.
The apps and websites we will be visiting often have educational games that will make noise so the headphones will be helpful to keep the children focused on their own game and keep the classroom from getting too loud. I intend to have my children use a variety of different apps throughout the school year. Some of the websites and apps we will be using are: Reflex Math, IXL, ReadWorks, Kahoot!, SeeSaw Class and other great educational apps and websites.
