I will be starting my first year as a teacher in Indianapolis Public Schools teaching fourth grade. We have over 33 countries and 24 languages represented in our school. We are a Title I school on the west side of Indianapolis. Over 90% of our students are receiving free/reduced lunches.
The majority of the students in our school have survived trauma or are refugees from other countries.
It is my hope that this project will help me provide a safe, caring, welcoming, and fully stocked classroom for each student who walks through my door. Help me start off my first year of teaching right!
My Project
I am Ms. Barron, and I will be starting my first year as a teacher in Indianapolis Public Schools teaching fourth grade. I have always had a passion for working with children, and I am so excited to begin my first year of teaching!
Building a classroom is a huge task, and many of my students have developmental, educational, and socio-emotional needs that I need to meet before any learning can truly take place.
Classroom sets of dry erase boards and clip boards will allow my students' learning to take place anywhere around our room. Supplies such as markers, crayons, and colored pencils allow my students to express themselves in a variety of different ways.
All of these items will be used daily by my students. I am extremely grateful for your support, and I can't wait to share these items with my kids!
DonorsChoose is the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
