My Project

As a Kindergarten teacher at a Title I school, I have the privilege of teaching some of the sweetest and most eager little learners. Many of my students come from low-income backgrounds, and for some, Kindergarten will be their very first experience in a school setting. Some have never attended daycare or Pre-K, so they may not have had the opportunity to explore classroom materials, use hands-on learning tools, or learn how to use different supplies and manipulatives.

I created this project because I want every child to walk into our classroom feeling included, confident, and ready to learn.

I never want a student to feel left out simply because their family may not have the financial resources to provide the supplies and materials they need to be successful in Kindergarten. Unfortunately, I have seen this happen far too many times throughout my teaching career, and I want to do everything I can to make sure my students have the tools they need to thrive.

I hope to provide my students with books, hands-on manipulatives, organizational items, arts and crafts supplies, a bookshelf, and other essential classroom materials. These resources will help create a welcoming, engaging, and organized learning environment where my students can explore, create, practice new skills, and develop a love for learning.

Books will help my students build their early literacy skills. Manipulatives will allow them to learn hands-on experiences. Arts and crafts materials will encourage creativity and self-expression. While other classroom tools will make learning fun and engaging. Organizational items and a bookshelf will help us create a classroom library and learning space where students can easily access materials and develop independence.

This project will help create a classroom where every child feels valued, included, and prepared to participate regardless of their family's financial circumstances.
