Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

Imagine this! Twenty-one eager first-grade students, sit in groups on the floor, waiting patiently for their math direct instruction to begin. Each group would be given different problems to solve with math manipulatives placed in reusable Zippered Pouches, while another group of students would work on the number bond activity set.

As each group works, smiles pop onto their faces as they begin to understand the connection between math manipulatives and everyday life.

I am hoping to encourage critical thinkers and problem solvers.

My students will show that they are mathematical geniuses!
