This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am a sixth-grade teacher at a Title I school. I have been teaching at this school for 14 years. Many of my students come from low-income households, but this doesn't stop them from achieving their goals. My students are incredibly hardworking. The school that I work at serves over 29 different languages.

We work hard at our school to create a welcoming environment where all students feel represented!

My Project

Many of my students have not had the opportunity to travel out of the very town that they live in. I would love to have a set of virtual reality headsets so that I can take them virtually to the places that we are studying.

Imagine learning about the wonders of the world and then getting to see them virtually in 3D immediately.

This would help to engage my students in a way that a simple Youtube video can't. It would get them excited about learning. There is nothing more enjoyable for a middle school teacher than hearing teenagers gasp in excitement about the joys of learning.
