My Project

We are requesting 15 new hardcover chapter books to replace the paperback books that have been so loved that they are falling apart. Our current copies are taped together and hanging by a thread because they are so loved. I love being able to provide my students with a variety of books and something to work towards.

Kids are motivated to read when there are books that they want to read, the Press Start Series is the book that all my first graders want to read.

My kids strive to read the Press Start series, it seems to be their mission to be able to read these books by the end of first grade. The Press Start book series is a very strong motivator for my students. Because of this, my paperback copies are falling apart. I am hoping that hardback books will hold up better and continue to create a classroom of strong, motivated readers. My students learn how to find just right books for themselves based on their interests and favorite characters. My students have worked hard to be great readers and can't seem to get enough. We're so excited at the thought of adding these new books to our classroom library!

Mrs. Candland will only receive her materials if this project is fully funded by August 16.
