My Students

The kindergarten students at our school are amazing. I have 22 kids in my kindergarten classroom. Our school is a Title I school. Breakfast and lunch are provided for each student. These kids come in each day with smiles on their faces ready to learn. It is exciting to see how much they learn by the end of the school year. I am still amazed when I hear them sound out words and read for the first time. I am always so proud. Children need to work very hard and stay focused during the day. I try to provide a comfortable environment and exciting activities for my students. This will help each student stay engaged and excited about learning. I provide as many resources as I can when my budget allows. This is why I need your help.

My Project

My students love books. We have a small but growing library in our classroom. I add to the library as often as I can but books can be costly. I want to make sure my kids stay excited about reading. To make this happen we need a new variety of books. I let my students take our classroom books home. They read them with their parents and bring them back. Then they can check out new ones. They have already taken home all the books I have in our clasroom library. Reading and especially reading at home is so important. Not all students have books at home to read. This is why it it so important our classroom library keeps growing. We also use these books in our book baskets. They each have a basket full of books. They spread out across the room and we have quiet reading time. They read their book and look for sight words. Thank you for reading our project. Help me keep my students excited about reading.
