This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

These are seventy-four, different learners from high poverty homes, attending a Title I school in an urban city. These students only get one opportunity to learn to love learning and I want to ensure that love begins in my class.

These students live in high-poverty homes and do not get all the opportunities that they deserve.

Despite some challenges outside the walls of the school, the students still come to school every day ready to learn and give me their best. In turn, they deserve the best materials and resources to learn from. They deserve everything that will allow them to have the richest education and opportunities for their future.

My Project

I currently work in a school with over 1,000 students and 65 teachers and we have a total of two copy machines. However, these copy machines have not worked in over two years. At times, the copier works and teachers can create fun and engaging activities. Now, the copiers no longer work and there are no printers available in the school.

Students and teachers are required to work without the ability to make copies.

Unfortunately, in this Title I school, students do not have access to any new or engaging activities. Instead, they are forced to use outdated textbooks. Please help my students keep up with other schools in the state.
