This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I have the privilege of working with the most amazing students. I teach in a Kindergarten ABA classroom. I have six students in my classroom. Some of my students are nonverbal. Most of my students have never attended school before due to the Corona Virus. I work in an area where students do not always receive what they need at home due to poverty.

It is important to me that my students' needs are met while at school.

I want school to be a safe, fun, engaging, and loving environment where they will thrive.

I have taught students who have Autism for over 15 years and have a true passion for what I do.

My Project

Students with Autism get distracted easily. These divides allow me to work with my students 1:1 without distractions. The white board allows me to put visuals on the board. Students with autism thrive with routine. I will be able to have the students schedules posted in their work area. This will limit behaviors due to transitioning. Having these dividers will allow me to have four separate learning environments. The white boards are double sided and will allow 4 of the 6 students to work free of distractions. Please consider helping create a learning environment where my students can thrive.
