My students range from ages 5-11. The students I work with have a range of disabilities: some of autism, ADHD, learning disabilities, and intellectual disabilities. My students receive intervention to help them perform in the general education classroom. The disabilities that affect my students cause them difficulties in learning in traditional ways. They may have trouble staying engaged or on task in the classroom.
My students work their best everyday to overcome their struggles, and I work to help them do this to reach their best potential.
My Project
My students range from grades Kindergarten to third grade. They receive instruction in a small group setting as well as in the classroom of 20+ students. They often struggle with staying on task, listening, engaging in lessons, and following directions.
The disabilities that my students have cause them to struggle with staying on task and focused, especially in a large group which negatively impacts their academic achievement.
I am asking for tools will help them to be able to move, fidget and wiggle in their seats while still remaining engaged in the lesson.
My students work their hardest every day to overcome their disability to be able to be successful in their classroom. I am working to help them find ways to regulate themselves and stay on task in order to reach their best potential.
