My Students

We have great students. At least a third are low income and they are a spirited bunch. My students have shown a keen interest in learning to play ukulele. The students at our school are from many diverse backgrounds and come from neighborhoods all around the Pittsburgh area.

They have learned recorders but I think it is time to have them learn a stringed instrument and the Uke is a perfect option.

It allows all students to participate and gives them the opportunity to express themselves through music.

Ukuleles will open up a whole new musical world for many of my students so I would like to get 26 ukuleles for my classes of 26.

My Project

We would like to have 26 ukuleles for our fifth grade students to help spark an interest in playing a musical instrument and to give each and every student the opportunity to show their talent in music.

After learning recorders, the students are all talking about learning to play the ukulele and I would love to give them the opportunity to play a stringed instrument and to be proud of playing songs on a real instrument this year.

Help us reach our goal of giving every student this opportunity to bring out their inner rockstar and perhaps change their lives forever.
