Help me give my students . Since the COVID 19 I have been teaching kids with Autism or OHI virtually. We are going to finally get back to the classroom. YAY! However, each student needs their own supplies.
I teach a Special Day Class with students in Transitional Kindergarten, Kindergarten, and First Grade. Most students are diagnosed with Autism or Other Heath Impairments. They are struggling with Virtual Learning and I can't wait to see them again. They require a high rate of positive reinforcement to help them be successful in a classroom setting (In Person and/or Virtual). Due to COVID 19 I have to have enough supplies for each student to be successful since they are not allowed to share. The students are eager to get back to school and so am I.
My Project
The containers will help the students keep all their individual items in a contained location. During an escalation, items may be thrown. Having all students belongings in a storage container will allow germs not to be passed amongst supplies. Many students have accommodations that require additional supplies that can be stored in these containers (i.e.: bands for chairs, fidgets, cushions for seat, adaptive paper, etc..). All the reinforcers help shape behaviors, due to COVID 19 I have to make sure each student has their own reinforcers for a week. Students that are learning Virtual will also need different reinforcers every week to keep them motivated. Reinforcers help students shape behavior through positive reinforcement.
