Help My Students Read at Home

Help me give my students sets of sentence matches, snap vowel sounds, and other hands-on materials so they can practice blending words and reading!!

My Students

My students are receiving READING INTERVENTION services; however, they have been challenged by the virtual learning circumstances. Many of my students do not have access to internet. Many have only one computer and are busy sharing their devices with siblings and parents. Over 50% of my students live in poverty, further compounding their challenges.

My Project

My students are used to using manipulatives to help them blend words and read. My instruction is very HANDS-ON, so virtual learning has been challenging. Even those that do have internet connections, do not have materials to manipulate in order to learn letter sounds, blend sounds, and ultimately read new words.

Putting magnetic letters and hands-on letter boards in students' hands will help them to engage in learning, even during this challenging time.

Through these materials and online platforms such as Google Meet, I will be able to provide direct instruction and continuity of learning.
