This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Many students struggle with fractions year after year. They haven't had opportunities to connect their learning in the classroom with the conceptual ideas behind fractions. I hope to bring fractions back to life for my students, making them less abstract and more understandable.

With fraction tiles, algebra tiles, and dry erase materials I hope to meet my students where they are and rapidly work towards grade level concepts through conceptual models, problem solving and collaboration.

These materials will go a long way in helping my students fill in knowledge gaps while still accessing grade level content.
