My Students

My students are courageous in the classroom! Despite the everyday challenges that some of these kids experience, they work hard to achieve their goals in school.

My students have grit!

They come to school ready to learn despite the challenges that they face on a daily basis. Science class is an opportunity to open doors for students, and to expose them to the countless opportunities available to them in the future!

I strive to create a school and classroom that is warm, engaging, and exciting for students!

My Project

I am requesting a class set of magnetic molecule kits. We learn about the properties of water in all of the science classes I teach (Biology, AP Biology, Environmental Literacy, Chemistry), and the topic is so important! Many of the more advanced topics we learn about relate back to the properties of water too—like transpiration (how plants get water from their roots to their leaves)!

The effects of the properties of water are easy to see in the world around us, but the science behind them is best learned hands-on!

These molecule kits will give students a way to visualize the molecules, the crystalline structure of ice, how the molecules interact, etc!
