This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Please join me in trying to make a better life for our students. Our whole student body receives free or reduced-price lunch. Many students come in begging for the essential items. One of my goals is to help students see that there is a bright future ahead of them and there are so many choices that are available to them. Another goal is to introduce them to the world beyond our CA desert.

A large percentage of our students are in foster care, and several live with family members other than their mom or dad.

Many of these children have had little or no stability in their lives. They are often moved from home to home, with few or no belongings. Many of them have at least one family member who is gang affiliated or in jail in a nearby prison.

Many of these babies have stories that no child should be able to tell. Many times school is the most stable place they know. Thank you in helping me to make their lives more enjoyable and stable while they are learning academically.

My Project

We are digging deep into science this year. We would like to explore the 5-E's through NGSS. My students want to participate in some fun science experiments. This project will benefit 4 different 5th-grade classrooms at our elementary school. We need baking soda, vinegar, Dixie cups, and Ziploc snack bags.

We NEED to learn why some things explode to help aid in our understanding of 'Chemical Reactions and Properties of Matter.' We, as educators, want to develop a model to describe that matter is made of particles that are too small to be seen.

We want our scholars to conduct an investigation to determine whether the mixing of two or more substances results in new substances. Overall, understanding chemical reactions and cause and effect!
