Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Many of my students are food insecure. They don't have breakfast before school and skip lunch because they can't afford it. It is hard to concentrate on learning when your tummy keeps grumbling in the middle of class. These students are often too embarrassed to ask for help. Without having their basic needs met, students can't concentrate in class.

My students will be more engaged in their work when they know they have food available to eat if needed.

The list includes some healthy and sweet snacks for students who haven't eaten or are hungry while in our classroom. My goal is to have a snack for every student in class when needed.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
