Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are energetic and enthusiastic. For most, this is their first experience with school! They make amazing progress during the year and love to learn. School is a safe and happy place where they love to be. Our school is a Title I school so many have experienced poverty or trauma both. We are starting the year with virtual learning. Many of my students do not have a quiet place to learn. Having headphones with a microphone for students would help students have a distraction free learning environment at home. As the teacher this would also encourage natural discussion without having to constantly mute and unmute our tablets.
My Project
My students are learning from home. Many of them do not have a quiet place to learn. The noise in the background makes it difficult for students to concentrate on Zoom class as well as making it difficult for classmates and myself to understand the student when they are speaking. Having headphones with microphones would make a huge difference in my students ability to learn and focus. Many of my students are also English Language Learners so it is very important for them to be able to hear clearly to learn the language.
