Through the use of hands-on materials and collaborative activities, students have become active participants in their own learning, showing increased motivation, confidence, and mastery of foundational literacy skills. Students are not only reading words, they are recognizing patterns, making connections, and supporting one another's success. This project reaffirmes that learning could be joyful and inclusive.\r\n\r\nIn summary, this project has elevated student learning. It has shown that when instruction is interactive and student centered, children thrive academically and socially. The impact is visible in their smiles, laughter, and the confidence of young readers discovering the power of words.","fullyFundedDate":1774287030416,"projectUrl":"project/sight-words-for-strong-readers/10061827/","projectTitle":"Sight Words for Strong Readers","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Felix","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10247304_orig.jpg?crop=1003,1003,x64,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1758680515142","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10247304"},{"teacherId":8566946,"projectId":9741171,"letterContent":"The new math and fine-motor materials you provided have truly transformed our kindergarten classroom! My students light up every morning when they see the new hands-on centers — counting bears, snap cubes, pattern blocks, and lacing beads have made math time something they look forward to. These tools have helped my students strengthen number sense while also building fine-motor control and coordination, which are so important at this age.\r\n\r\nOne of my favorite moments was watching a small group of students working together to measure their desks with connecting cubes — they were so proud to discover who had the \"longest desk.\" Another group used the lacing cards and tweezers from the fine-motor station and called it \"finger gym.\" These materials have not only boosted engagement but also encouraged collaboration and language growth for my English learners.\r\n\r\nAs we move into the next part of our math unit, we'll continue using these resources to explore addition and subtraction through concrete, tactile play. Because of your generosity, I can now give every child a hands-on way to make abstract math concepts real and fun to learn.
