Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This project is aimed to provide students with access to equipment they need to explore the potential of their instruments and, more importantly, themselves. A lot of our equipment left the classroom when the previous Music Teacher left, and as Special Education Teacher I do not have the same resources. However, as an Adviser for Music Club over the past 3 years, I want to see again that "spark" that lights up in kids' eyes when they realize they can play something they never imagined before. The equipment will allow students to develop their skills as an individual as well as a collaborator while playing music in a group with other students.

Over the past few years I witnessed multiple students attend our club with hesitation, only to leave with new friends, new skills, and a sense of pride in their achievements - I want this to continue to be an experience I can help facilitate for students.
