We are a fun school that loves to host many wonderful school wide events. While these events are meant to be nothing but fun, for some of our amazing students, these experiences are filled with many sensory challenges that can overwhelm them. This could turn a fun day at school into a day filled with stress, and sometimes even tears.
I've found that especially post pandemic, students are not ready to filter through and regulate all the sensory input they receive at school on a daily basis.
This leads to challenges with learning, focusing, safety, developing friendships, and managing their emotions. The steamroller deluxe, A.K.A. the squeeze machine, is my favorite tool to provide students with calming and regulating deep pressure and proprioceptive input. This tool will help students learn how to better understand and regulate their bodies so they can enjoy school and learn to the fullest!
