My caseload of students are from Williamsburg, Brooklyn. All of my students have speech and language impairments which means they have weaknesses in a form of communication. Typically people think that speech=sounds but we also learn language, social skills, reading comprehension, and phonemic awareness. All skills which are essential to succeed in the classroom. Most of my students are in special education classes (12:1:1), or ICT (an integrated class), or SETSS (special education teacher support services) in addition to speech and language support. Often my students require visuals and other materials to motivate them to learn.
