Help Meet Students' Basic Needs So They Can Learn Well

Help me give my students warmth and care during this pandemic. I work at a Title I school and many of my students come from families that got impacted by Covid-19. Let's meet their basic needs!

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are a culturally diverse group of young individuals who love learning. Creative. Funny. Talented. Inquisitive. These are just a few words that come to mind when thinking about my precious 4th graders from Maui. Our classroom enjoys hands-on and project-based learning. I love watching them become lifelong learners.

My Project

Help meet my students' basic needs during this pandemic. Our economy here in Hawaii rely heavily on our tourism industry. Because of Covid-19, many of the local families got impacted by unemployment and even the emotional trauma of dealing with this global dilemma. Students had to stay home for almost a year to do virtual learning. After this, they returned to in-person learning, but had to deal with the new normal in school.

I know that kids are resilient and I see it everyday.

This is why I believe that meeting their basic needs will help them thrive even in a situation as dire as this pandemic.
