Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

There are endless strategies for students who need to self-regulate. Some may prefer breathing exercises or coloring, and others may need time alone or a break outside the classroom. This year, my school has seen an increase of students who achieve self-regulation through sensory practices. In a school of over 900 students, it is essential to have the materials for various self-regulation resources available so all students can find success.

Weighted blankets and stuffed animals are a beneficial way to achieve self-regulation without missing classroom instruction.

With your donation, these weighted blankets and stuffed animals can be given to children while sitting at their desk so they can continue to learn and participate while self-regulating. Having access to additional plastic pellets will allow our staff to create custom weighted blankets and stuffed animals for our students, curating a memorable self-regulation tool while bonding with each student.
