Help me give my students mentor texts that have diverse protagonists in them.
FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. Sarah Archer's classroom raised $202
This project is fully funded
My Project
It is my strong belief that children must see themselves in the books they read. It is critical for students to understand that their identities matter and that includes their cultures. Teaching a diverse population of students, brings this importance to the forefront.
When my students are able to see strong and resilient protagonists that look like them, they simply feel less alone.
Providing my students with engaging texts that they can connect to enables them to grow as readers, thinkers, and humans. This projects will provide my students with novels that showcase diverse characters that mimic my student demographics.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
