Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

I teach at an inner city, low income, high need magnet school. I teach juniors and Seniors Microsoft Office, web page design and Business Education. Almost all of my students continue their education in 4 or 2 year colleges or technical programs, but need help in the application process. Our school budget was again decreased removing essential items from the classroom.

Can you help me Print my College Application and Personal Statement?... Almost all of my students continue their education in 4 or 2 year colleges or technical programs. However, they need help in the application process, completing essays, personal statements, etc. This process uses printer paper that we do not have. Since I am one of 4 teachers with a computer lab, I see most Students in the building seeking to print assignments, essays, rough drafts etc. The school allotment of 2 reams of paper per month is greatly inadequate to cover my class work, yet alone the students throughout the building. Vast quantities of Printer/Copy Paper are desperately needed!

Copy/Printer Paper is desperately needed to help my students. My Senior classes work on Resumes, Applications for work and for college, and creating Portfolios of their work. They work to create and polish personal statements that help set them apart from other applicants. The also work to find grant and scholarship applications that are crucial to their financial ability to attend the Colleges and Universities of their choice. Paper for the printer will allow them to proof read, take the papers to the English tutors and create polished work that will help them Attend College.

Paper, Really?, Paper, Who would have thought that a school wouldn't have enough paper to help their students print college applications, personal statements, or scholarship essays. Your help will make sure that my students will have the ability to find, and submit college applications and scholarship essays that will allow them to attend College. Since the school is in a high need, low income area, any help these students can obtain is crucial to success. How will it make you feel knowing that providing paper helped get a kid into college, or get that scholarship that allows them to go to college?
