My Students

I have the privilege of teaching a group of wonderfully diverse students. I teach students with special needs. I teach students who have IQs higher than mine. I teach students who come from loving families. I teach students who hear gunshots at night. I teach students who can't afford yearbooks and students who buy extra yearbooks for their friends.

My students share their diverse experiences in the classroom, benefiting all of us.

We are a suburban school that brings students in from the city.

We are a school that believes each student can succeed. We are a school that focuses on relationship building between the teachers and the students.

I am a teacher who wants to give her students the skills to make a positive difference in the world. I am a teacher who wants each student to know how important they are to the world. I am a teacher who wants to give the world to my students and my students to the world.

My Project

When a classroom is full of students, it can be very hard to focus and concentrate on what students need to learn. With the number of students we have coming in and out of quarantine, our lesson plans are changing rapidly and students are doing different things each day.

Students need to be able to concentrate, and that comes in a variety of ways in the classroom.

Some students need a quiet place to work, others work better with a partner to discuss things, even others need white noise in their ears. Having a class set of headphones will allow students to meet their own needs and work independently in all situations.

These headphones will stay in my classroom and be a resource for students to use when they are needed. Sometimes that is for watching a video, listening to an audiobook, or masking the noise in the classroom. Either way, students will be able to use them as needed!
