Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My school is located just outside of Raleigh in a small town. My students come from a variety of backgrounds and are creative and love to learn. These students are truly passionate about their learning and have a great drive to succeed.
My students love to learn through reading and hands on manipulatives.
Collaborative working is something that is very big in my room, as it helps my students understand teamwork and also helps with their understanding of core content.
My Project
This project will help make a world of difference in my classroom's learning. I have a wonderful Smartboard in my classroom to use during my lessons, but unfortunately there are no speakers to accompany it. When watching educational videos to reinforce what is being taught, I need to play the sound from my laptop, which is not loud at all; so often times, students cannot hear.
My students also use many educational websites throughout the day, but some do not have head phones.
So having headphones will afford them the privacy to practice skills they need without distraction or judgement from their peers.
