Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach Kindergarten at my alma mater. To be a teacher to these amazing 5-year-old students is my dream come true! My students come from multi-family homes, often 3 generations living in the same house to make ends meet. They often don't have the newest gadgets or fanciest clothes, but they have the will to learn!
My students are some of the hardest working, sweetest, liveliest kids that you will ever meet.
They love coming to school and learning. We have excellent attendance in my class and they come ready to learn each and every day. I want to be the best teacher that I can be for them and I strive to be that teacher every day!
My Project
I would like to attend the National Get Your Teach On conference in San Diego, CA between the dates of June 24, 2018 to June 26, 2018. This conference will enable me to continue teaching with best practices for my kindergarten classroom.
Never stop learning is my philosophy!
I am a 27-year veteran teacher, but that doesn't mean that I don't have more to learn. Attending this conference will help ensure that I am keeping up-to-date with the current trends in education. I will not only be able to bring what I learned to my classroom, but share with my colleagues so that more than my 24 students are benefiting from this project.
