Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The health office serves so many children during the school day for a wide range of reasons. It is not unusual to have a sick child waiting over an hour for a ride home as parents are at work and trying to arrange rides the best they can. More than half of students come from low‑income households and leaving work can be very difficult.

Seating in the nurses office should be able to meet many needs, whether it is to ice and elevate an injury or a place to lay your head while waiting for a ride home; the need for convertible seating will allow for multipurpose use.

The current state of seating in the health office is industrial and uncomfortable. I'm looking forward to bringing more function with more of a homey feel to the health office. Having convertible seating will allow for this. I will be able to remove the very large cot, this will give the office more space and allow for more than one child to have the opportunity to rest comfortably when needed.
