My Students

Can you imagine having all your thoughts and ideas inside of you and not being able to express them to those around you? This is a challenge for many of my students. They want to be a part of our daily lessons and give the right answer when they know it, but they just can't get the words out.

I have a class of eight 3-4-year-old students with Autism Spectrum Disorder.

They have a wide range of abilities. More than half of my class is non-verbal and have a difficult time communicating. This leads to a lot of frustration for the students. There are many great products out there to help assist our students and allow them to communicate and be a more active participant in our daily lessons.

My Project

With your donation, our class will be able to have two classroom Voice Pods that can be used for many different classroom lessons. With a Voice Pod, the teacher is able to record the word or words to be paired with a picture. When the student pushes the button, the Voice Pod will speak the words for them. With these Voice Pods, our students will be given a chance to make requests and communicate their wants and needs.

Our students all deserve the chance to express themselves.

These Voice Pods will help them do this. When they are able to appropriately express themselves, their frustration level will go down and make for a better learning environment for the entire class. The Voice Pods are reusable and can be adapted for every lesson and every classroom experience. These will be used over and over again for many years. Please help our students find their voice!
