My Students
The students we have in our kindergarten classes are full of love, passion for learning and are so creative. They are so very full of life and are eager to ask many questions, explore and learn in any way possible.
Our school has 300 children who come from a wide variety of home lives.
Some people may think that since 100% of our school population receives free breakfast and lunch, we may be struggling or that the family or children are, but together we fight this stigma and work to improve and grow each child to their fullest potential.
This is so easily done, because no matter what, my kindergartners want to come to school each day to share in the rigorous work we do. These sweet students want to learn so many things, even if we don't always have all the resources.
My Project
This project is focused on helping me plan excellent guided reading lessons and increase vocabulary overall. Teacher's Pay Teacher's is an amazing resource that supports teachers in all content areas and I will use a gift towards this site to supplement my students in math, reading, writing and content areas. I will also use this resource for additional guided reading books, word work and sight word materials. In addition to Teacher's Pay teachers, Scholastic Magazines are another excellent resource that focused on key topics and the students have really enjoyed them this year in my classroom. They have enjoyed the videos, the activities and being able to bring their own copy of the magazine home. I hope to provide this same experience to my classroom for the upcoming school year.
