Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I teach a group of Preschoolers between the ages of 3-5 who are a part of the Preschool special education program in an urban school district. My students come from different backgrounds and have various needs. Each of them is unique and wonderful on their own way. Many of our students are on the autism spectrum. The students in my classroom mainly learn through play and and experience. Hands on learning is an essential component to my classroom.

By creating a sensory corner in my classroom students will have a space to safely meet their sensory needs.

Students will have a calming space to help regulate their bodies and emotions throughout our school day.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
