Learning should not just be done through textbooks and paper/ pencil work. This is because not all students learn in the same manner. A variety of tools in the classroom will enable students to make decisions in a variety of projects whether through play or academics.
There needs to be balance in the classroom to allow learners to use their minds creatively.
This can be accomplished through play and the use of a child's imagination. Students should be encouraged to make decisions on how they create different projects. Through the use of STEM materials, students will be able to accomplish this goal. The cookie counters, cash register, games, and building materials will be a great addition to our classroom.
