Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I have a very active and wiggly class this year. My students need these cushions to help them concentrate on their work.

My students come from a low-income background.

My classroom needs alternative seating options for students who struggle to sit and learn in a traditional desk/chair setup. Many of my 5th-grade students are English language learners. They are trying to learn a new language and many don't speak English. So when they also have to overcome an attention issue, learning becomes very difficult!

The materials I have requested will assist close to 32 students in my classroom who have attention issues and struggle to sit in a traditional classroom setting. By being able to sit comfortably without dealing with the traditional back pain and uncomfortable chair, they will be able to be more successful in the classroom and all of their learning.

This project will definitely make an impact on my students' lives.

They are struggling with the transition from Spanish instruction to English instruction and the additional time expected to "be in your seat." These alternative seating arrangements will make better learning possible for them.
