The story also creates meaningful conversations about friendship, empathy, acceptance, and looking beyond someone's differences.\r\n\r\nLater in the school year, we will read Waiting for Normal, which will give students another opportunity to explore themes such as family, resilience, identity, and overcoming challenges. Having access to class sets of these books allows students to read together, participate in discussions, make connections, and develop stronger comprehension and critical-thinking skills.\r\n\r\nMost importantly, these books are helping make reading feel meaningful and enjoyable for my students.
