We use our iPads daily across all subjects. The keyboards will be used to practice writing and typing. Students currently use their iPads to type their writing assignments, debates, movie scripts, and close reading assignments. The keyboards will cut the time it takes them to type an assignment giving us more time to focus on other common core standards. Students with the ability to type have the advantage, especially when faced with typing and writing for the Smarter Balanced Assessment Consortium (SBAC). This will make a difference by exposing them to keyboards, opening up more time for other standards and to get the college experience. Access to technology will help prepare students for college and their careers.
