I need a 12 hour professional development institute to advance to my permanent teaching license.

Developing my practices and designing productive student assessments are vitally important to myself and my students. I work hard each day to create a safe and happy learning environment in our school so everyone can flourish. My students will benefit from this development because I can improve classroom practices and behavior management which is a huge issue in our schools currently. I try very hard to provide a positive place where students can grow socially and emotionally as well as academically. I would love the opportunity to improve my pedagogical practices for the benefit of my students.
I have been teaching for 8 years now - I spent three years teaching in Korea after graduating with my degree in English.
I taught for two years in Auburn while earning my MA. I have been a teacher in Cincinnati Public Schools for three years. However, because my degree was in English Literature and I did not have a focus in education, I am required to take an online 12-hour institute that will cover topics such as principles and practices of teaching, student development and learning, student assessment, curriculum development, classroom management and teaching methods. This is an online professional development institute and no travel is required.
I work in a Title I school with a high turnover rate. I love my students and work hard for them every single day. However, learning more about assessment and classroom management will be extremely impactful for me and my classroom. I look forward to being able to grow professionally and find new ways to navigate the world of education amidst budget cuts and escalating mental health crises in the classroom.
