The art supplies allow students to explore Latin American history and culture in a hands-on way by making projects inspired by Indigenous and Latin American art traditions, such as murals, symbols, and visual storytelling.\r\n\r\nMany of my students connect more deeply when they can express their learning visually. These materials give them the opportunity to show their understanding in ways that feel meaningful and personal, especially when language alone can be limiting. Students took pride in their work, shared their projects with classmates, and made connections between historical themes and modern Latin American identity.\r\n\r\nThis project has helped transform our classroom into a creative space where students feel confident, engaged, and excited to learn. Your support made it possible for students to see history as something alive. Something they can interact with, question, and represent in their own voices. Thank you for giving my students the tools to learn in a way that truly works for them.","fullyFundedDate":1758847007933,"projectUrl":"project/celebrating-latin-america-through-art/9620054/","projectTitle":"Celebrating Latin America Through Art","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. LaRoche","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp3835405_orig.jpg?crop=1090,1090,x0,y228&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1721319181334","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/3835405"},{"teacherId":3835405,"projectId":9858613,"letterContent":"Thank you for donating the TVs for our esports program. These TVs made it possible for more students to actually participate in Super Smash Bros at the same time, which completely changed what the program looks like day to day.\r\n\r\nBefore this project, we were limited by how many setups we could run, and that meant students had to sit out or wait long stretches for a turn. Now, more matches can happen at once, more students can play, and more students feel like they're truly part of the team.\r\n\r\nBecause of this increased access, our esports program has grown into something students look forward to. It's become a space for competition, teamwork, and connection. Thank you for helping remove barriers and giving more students the chance to be involved. The snacks you helped provide have already made a real difference. Many of my students come to school hungry or without access to consistent food at home, and having something available for them during the day has helped them stay focused, calm, and ready to learn. These snacks aren't just food; they are a way for students to feel seen, cared for, and supported when they need it most.\r\n\r\nThe reaction from students was immediate. Several of them lit up when they saw the snacks available, and a few shared that this would be the only thing they'd eat until they got home. Others were simply grateful to have something to help them get through the school day. It has already reduced a lot of the stress and anxiety some of our students carry with them, and it's made my space feel even more like a safe, welcoming place where they can breathe and reset.\r\n\r\nMoving forward, these resources will continue to support the work we're doing around attendance, mental health, and emotional regulation. When students' basic needs are met, they're more able to focus on the social-emotional skills we're building together. Your generosity has strengthened the support system these kids depend on every day, and I truly can't thank you enough for believing in them.","fullyFundedDate":1758222708587,"projectUrl":"project/healthy-rewards-for-growing-minds/9622377/","projectTitle":"Healthy Rewards for Growing Minds","teacherDisplayName":"Coach Kam","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-5_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10188389"},{"teacherId":9843636,"projectId":8955582,"letterContent":"We are learning to play the piano, and the new digital pianos have completely transformed our classroom. When the students first saw the instruments, they were beyond shocked — their eyes lit up with excitement and disbelief. Many of them had never seen a real digital piano up close, let alone had the chance to play one.\r\n\r\nAs soon as the students sat down and started experimenting with the keys, the room was filled with curiosity and joy. It was incredible to see them helping each other find notes and share in the excitement of creating music together.\r\n\r\nThese digital pianos will now be the centerpiece of group piano lessons. Instead of just learning about music through theory, students will be actively engaging in hands-on learning. They will practice finger placement, reading simple sheet music, and even beginning to play familiar tunes.\r\n\r\nNext, our students will be working on a group performance project where each of them will learn a part of a song to play together as a class. This not only builds their musical skills but also encourages teamwork and confidence.\r\n\r\nWe're so grateful for the support from our donors — your generosity brought this opportunity to life, and we can't wait to share more musical milestones with you!","fullyFundedDate":1735623268235,"projectUrl":"project/give-the-gift-of-music-to-our-high-schoo/8955582/","projectTitle":"Give the Gift of Music to Our High School!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. James","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-9_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9843636"},{"teacherId":3835405,"projectId":8942403,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for supporting our classroom! The headphones you helped fund have had an immediate and meaningful impact on my students. As English language learners, many of them rely on audio supports to understand grade-level material. With these headphones, they can now listen to read-alouds of texts on their computers without distraction, allowing them to better follow along and build both their reading and listening skills.\r\n\r\nThe headphones have also been a huge help during state testing, where students are able to access the audio features they need in order to demonstrate what they've learned. Having enough quality headphones has reduced stress and helped create a quieter, more focused classroom environment for everyone.\r\n\r\nThank you again for making this possible. By having these new books in their language, they are truly enjoying seeing themselves in the stories, but also being able to completely understand. This helps to set them up for success for the rest of the class period when I teach them whole group in English and takes more mental effort. \r\n\r\nThank you so much for your generosity and helping to motivate my students to read more.
