This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Can you imagine what it would feel like to go to a museum and find your artwork hanging up for everyone to see? Can you imagine how that would feel for a child? We're planning on having an art exhibition to make this feeling possible for our students, but we we can't do it without your help!
Our vivacious and affable students are from a high needs, high poverty NYC Public School.
Many of the students are English language learners and this art exhibition would be a great way for our students to further develop and reinforce the skills they've been learning and to share that with the whole community
My Project
I'm requesting large black construction paper, which the students will use to mount their artwork for our art exhibition that will take place in May. The students really want this show to happen, but it won't be possible without your help. We can't hang up the artwork without mounting it first. Mounting protects and highlights the artwork, as well as makes the show cohesive and professional.
Having this art show is a very important and enriching experience for our students to have.
It is a great experience for children to create art, but it's an even more meaningful experience for them to be able to share it with friends, family, teachers, and the community. Discussing art develops confidence, critical thinking and verbal communication skills that are necessary for success in college and their future careers.
